Cargo Data Management was founded in 1990 by Garner McNett and Mike Carlsen, as a privately held corporation dedicated to the development and marketing of affordable, proprietary software for the air cargo industry. Seeing so many air cargo systems that were difficult to use and even more difficult to gather useful information from, Cargo Data Management's goal was to create a software system that is intuitive, yields useful data and is easy to learn.
Both men brought extensive aviation and management experience to the new company, and have continually refined and improved the entire range of Cargo Data Management software solutions in response to customer needs and feedback.
Over the years since its founding, our systems have been employed by leading cargo carriers all over the United States and the world.
In the last two years, Cargo Data Management has led the trend toward moving cargo accounting systems out of customer networks and into centralized, hosted data centers, where customers can store and access all their data using the Internet. This approach minimizes customers' software and hardware investment, assures continuous upgrading, and allows Internet access from any computer.
